Grizzlies’ Mike Conley responds to allegations of cheating wife with excellent tweet
Mike Conley saw your jokes about his wife, and decided to respond.
In case you aren’t caught up, some folks this week on social media started doubting whether Conley’s child was really is. While most people accept the fact that Conley and his wife, Mary, have a child named Myles, others weren’t so sure.
Conley’s wife did not cheat on him, and that is his child. The underlying joke is that Conley’s baby doesn’t look like him. And instead of letting these jokes just run their course, Conley decided to respond with some jokes of his own.
They’ve got limited means (an open roster spot) and two trade exceptions (one for $4.4 million and another for $4.8 million) to acquire players. Plus, Griffin told Windhorst that he’s never been given a spending limit by Gilbert. The only provision: Adding more salary with an additional move must make us appreciably better.
LeBron, as is his custom, will stay on the case. He doesn’t need to remind Gilbert or Griffin that he can leave as a free agent in 2018.
James has always put pressure on ownership to spend as he sees fit, even when was in Miami. When the Heat chose not to pay Mike Miller, one of his basketball compadres, because it would drive up their luxury tax bill, James held it against team owner Micky Arison.
James had roster suggestions in his four seasons in Miami, and even once reportedly tried to get coach Erik Spoelstra fired, though Heat president Pat Riley said that conversation never took place. But the difference is that in Miami he was merely a superstar player without the clout to take on Riley.
